MesoCare is proud to announce that David Foster has been named the recipient of the 2026 Bridge to Care Award.
The Bridge to Care Award recognizes individuals who make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families facing mesothelioma, asbestos-related diseases, and other serious health challenges. This award is given to leaders who help bridge the gap between diagnosis, treatment, support, education, and advocacy.
For the clinical and administrative team at MesoCare, David Foster stood out because of his long-standing commitment to helping mesothelioma patients and caregivers navigate one of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Who Is David Foster?
David Foster is widely recognized as a patient advocate, mesothelioma support leader, asbestos awareness advocate, and host of MESO: The Mesothelioma Podcast.
Through his advocacy work, educational efforts, and patient support initiatives, David Foster has become a trusted voice for individuals and families affected by mesothelioma, asbestos exposure, asbestos lung cancer, and other asbestos-related diseases.
David’s work is deeply personal. According to his story, his father died from asbestos lung cancer, an experience that shaped his mission to help other families facing similar challenges. That personal experience gave him firsthand insight into the emotional, medical, and practical burdens families often face after an asbestos-related diagnosis.
Since then, David Foster has dedicated his career to improving access to support, resources, education, and guidance for mesothelioma patients and caregivers.
Why David Foster Received the Bridge to Care Award
At MesoCare, we understand that a mesothelioma diagnosis can be overwhelming.
Patients and families often face questions about treatment options, specialists, travel, financial concerns, caregiving responsibilities, and how to plan for the future. They may also need help understanding the difference between mesothelioma, asbestos lung cancer, pleural mesothelioma, peritoneal mesothelioma, and other asbestos-related illnesses.
That is why patient advocates matter.
The clinical and administrative team at MesoCare believes David Foster exemplifies what it means to bridge the gap between fear and support, confusion and clarity, and diagnosis and care.
His work has helped families:
- Learn more about mesothelioma treatment options
- Understand the impact of asbestos exposure
- Access emotional and practical support resources
- Connect with medical experts and specialists
- Hear from survivors, caregivers, and advocates
- Better understand the legal and financial issues surrounding asbestos-related diseases
That combination of compassion, education, and advocacy is exactly what the Bridge to Care Award was created to recognize.
The Importance of Mesothelioma Advocacy
Mesothelioma is a rare and aggressive cancer caused by asbestos exposure. Many patients are diagnosed years or even decades after exposure occurred.
Because of the complexity of the disease, patients often need more than medical care alone. They also need support systems, trusted educational resources, caregiver guidance, and access to organizations that can help them make informed decisions.
Advocates like David Foster play an important role in helping patients and caregivers feel less alone. By creating educational resources, sharing expert interviews, and amplifying patient stories, he has helped improve awareness around mesothelioma, asbestos exposure, asbestos lung cancer, and the importance of early support.
His work through MESO: The Mesothelioma Podcast has also created a platform where patients, caregivers, survivors, attorneys, doctors, and advocates can share information that may help others better navigate the disease.
MesoCare’s Commitment to Patients and Families
At MesoCare, our mission is to help mesothelioma patients and families access trusted information, meaningful support, and helpful resources throughout their journey.
The Bridge to Care Award reflects that mission.
We believe that healthcare is not just about treatment. It is also about compassion, communication, advocacy, education, and making sure patients know they are not alone.
For those reasons, we are honored to recognize David Foster as the 2026 recipient of the Bridge to Care Award.
On behalf of the clinical and administrative team at MesoCare, congratulations to David Foster, and thank you for the work you continue to do for mesothelioma patients, caregivers, and families.
